How does an airsoft minigun work?

I was surfing the net, looking at the new guns in the market. I ran across some cool airsoft  videos. It's about the airsoft minigun. I was really impressed by the power it showed. The airsoft minigun destroyed a 42" TV. I was surprised that the BB balls would be able to make it into the screen. How did they make the airsoft minigun so powerful? How does an airsoft mingun work? How many rounds does it fire? What is the FPS of the airsoft minigun? How much is it? I bet it’s totally expensive!

Just like most airsoft guns in the market, the airsoft minigun is a replica of the weapons being used by the military and the police. The airsoft minigun is a miniature replica of the huge machine guns that are used in the military.

With a length of 37 inches and a height of 13 inches, the M-134A2 Vulcan Minigun has a very impressive and intimidating aura. With a velocity of 280 fps to 600 fps, it is really made to scare off your opponents in an airsoft game. It fires 6-milimeter, 0.88-gram steel BB's and 6-milimeter, plastic airsoft BB's at a speed of 50 rounds per second. Plastic and metal BB’s can be combined in the magazine. Of course, the use of metal BB’s is not allowed in airsoft games.

The M-134A2 can fire BB's that can cover a distance of 50 to 125 yards at a very high rate of fire because it is powered by both electricity and compressed air. The electricity is supplied by a battery which activates the motor that controls the rotation of the barrel as well as the application of the compressed air source.

If you dissect this cool machine, you will notice that there is a central hub, which contains a lot of cams and bolts, inside the receiver. It is made of Deleron, a frictionless polymer compound. With each revolution, the central hub picks up a BB from the central hopper in order to push it into the barrel. A separate bolt and loading system can be found in each barrel.

With a close bolt system and a collapsing design, damages are prevented from occuring in cases of misfires and misfeeds. As long as the trigger is pulled, this minigun constantly releases compressed air. As the barrel rotates, each barrel aligns with the part that expels compressed air whenever it reaches the eleven o'clock position. Of course, as each barrel is emptied, a new one is being loaded. This explains this machine's high rate of fire.

You’re quite right. The price of this gun is a bit steep. The price of this gun is around $5,500. The reason for this is the cost of materials used in the research and development of this product. Also, since this is a custom-built weapon, the manufacturing cost is quite high. The advantage of getting one is the fact that it may become a collector’s item in the future. You might end up with a gun that is worth $250,000!
